The website does not have an online contact form. If you contact us by email, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, company and position, email address, telephone number, project requirements and other information included in your correspondence. To operate and secure the website and troubleshoot problems, the website and its infrastructure may record necessary technical logs, such as IP address, access time, browser or device information and pages visited.

We process information to the extent needed for our business and permitted by applicable law: to respond to enquiries, understand potential or existing project requirements, provide and follow up on services, maintain the website and its security, keep necessary business records and meet legal obligations. We do not use this information for unrelated ad targeting or visitor profiling.

The code of the website currently planned for launch does not deploy advertising tracking cookies, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or comparable behavioural analytics tools. The browser's local storage of a language preference is not used for ad tracking. If we introduce analytics, tracking or other technologies that affect how personal information is processed, whether before or after launch, we will check how they work, update this policy and provide notices or seek consent where required by applicable law.

The website's server is located in Hong Kong (Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service); technical information necessary when you visit the site is processed there. Emails sent to k@idechina.cn are transmitted, processed or stored through NetEase Enterprise Mail. We engage service providers to process information only as necessary to provide the relevant services and take appropriate protective measures under applicable law.

We do not sell personal information. Providers of website hosting, business email and necessary IT support may process information needed for those services under their arrangements with us. We may disclose information to the extent necessary where required by law, legal process or a lawful request from a competent authority; to protect the lawful rights and interests of relevant parties; or where we have authorisation or another lawful basis for doing so.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless the law requires otherwise or business records must be retained by law. We take reasonable organisational and technical measures appropriate to the nature and processing of the information to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse. Internet transmission and electronic communications cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, inspect, receive a copy of, correct, supplement or delete your personal information, or request restrictions on or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Please contact us using the email address below. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before handling a request.

Website visitors, servers and business email systems may be located in different countries or regions. Whether cross-border processing takes place, how information moves and which requirements apply will be assessed against the final deployment and actual business processes. If personal information is provided from mainland China to a location outside mainland China, we will, where applicable, provide the required notices, obtain separate consent and complete any legally required transfer procedures. We will also assess and comply with the requirements of other jurisdictions where applicable, including Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) in relation to Japanese visitors or clients where it applies, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in relation to EU visitors or clients where it applies.

The website itself does not deploy a feature that uses visitors' browsing information to train generative AI models. If IDE plans to use a third-party AI tool in its business to help process personal information that may be contained in emails or project materials, we will first assess the purpose, service used, data flows and applicable legal requirements, and take any necessary steps concerning notice, authorisation and management of the service provider. This section does not mean that we already process visitor or client materials in this way.

We may update this policy as the website, services used, business practices or applicable law changes. We will publish the updated policy on the website with its update date. We will separately notify you or seek consent for material changes where required by applicable law.
